Avokado specialises in Lingerie and Swimwear in cup sizes D and above. Many of you will assume that this means we only cater for women with very big boobs. This is actually not the case, especially for women who have slim or petite body shapes. Most of the models you see on our website are cup size F or above!

We find there is a great deal of misunderstanding regarding bra sizing - which explains why 9 out of 10 women who visit us for the first time are wearing the wrong size bra, nearly always cup sizes that are too small, and back sizes that are too big.  This is largely because women have been uncomfortable about getting a professional fitting or have had no access to a specialist lingerie shop.

Avokado stocks more than 100 bra sizes, that's right, over 100! What to expect when you visit our Auckland shop

For most women the thought of a 'bra fitting' can be pretty daunting, but we all understand this, so try to make it as easy and painless as we can.

If you are visiting us for the first time, we look forward to meeting you, and we really enjoy catching up with our regulars! When you first come along, it's quite good if you have a look around and familiarise yourself with the shop (and ourselves). When you are ready, we will ask a few questions about what sort of bra/swimwear you are after. We will also ask you what bra size you have been wearing, and will gauge an idea of your size before we do a fitting. Don't worry if you don't know your size, we can soon work it out! We don't use a tape measure to work out your size, as this can often be inaccurate and misleading.

At this stage, we will show you through to a fitting room, where we will let you put on one of our bras, in private. Once the bra is on, we like to come into the room to check the size on you (if you are comfortable with that). After that, we will bring you more sizes and styles, until we find the ones that are just right for you.

If it's your first fitting, you should allow at least 30 minutes for the whole process. Subsequent fittings should be much quicker:). We also offer to take your details, so that we have a record of your size and styles that suit you.
